Protect Your Photos Before You Die

Protecting your photos isn't about simply preserving pixels on paper or in the cloud; it's about safeguarding the essence of who we are, the moments that define us, and the connections we make.
There are many different ways you can choose to preserve your memories, but for me, it comes down to having all my photos, videos, and metadata all in one secure location making it easier for future generations to find. My choice is FOREVER Permanent Cloud Storage.
Here are a couple of steps to take in order to protect your photos before you die. Simplicity and organization is the key! Make it as easy as possible for those left behind to carry on your digital legacy.
Step 1: Record Photo Locations
Make a list of where to find your photos (print, digital, online, cloud, social media.)
Step 2: Manage Your Legacy
Create instructions on what to do with your physical and digital memories after you are gone.
Step 3: Record Online Credentials
Record all of your online user names and passwords of sites where you keep photos and videos.
Step 4: Assign a Digital Account Manager or Executor
Choose someone trustworthy and technically proficient, and ensure they understand their role.
Step 5: Secure Information Storage
Keep this information in a safe, secure location known by your Digital Executor.
By taking the steps above, you’re not only ensuring the responsible handling of your digital presence but also providing your loved ones with a clear roadmap for honoring your memory in the digital age.
